Privacy
Better Method measures anonymous visits so the handbook can improve without building profiles of individual readers.
What the site measures
Better Method counts page views, approximate visitors, referral domains, device and browser categories, downloads, prompt copies, outbound link visits, and whether a session reached thirty seconds or seventy-five percent scroll depth.
Campaign tags such as utm_source and utm_campaign are recorded
when they are present in a link. Country is recorded only when the hosting service
supplies a country code. Otherwise the browser’s time zone is used as a broad location
signal.
What it does not keep
- No names or email addresses
- No form contents or copied prompt contents
- No raw IP addresses
- No full browser user-agent strings
- No advertising identifiers
- No cross-site tracking cookies
The server uses an IP address and browser information briefly to create a one-way, anonymous visitor estimate. Only the resulting short hash is written to the analytics file. It cannot be reversed to recover the original IP address.
Why this information is used
The data is used to learn which workflows people find, which pages hold attention, what gets downloaded or copied, and which outreach links bring useful visits. It is not sold or used for advertising.
Retention and access
Analytics files are kept on the same private server as the site for up to four hundred days by default. The statistics dashboard is password protected. Retention can be shortened through the server configuration.
