How to use this handbook

From your desk

You do not need the whole site. You need the three files that match this week's work. Pick the desk that is closest. Ignore the rest until next Tuesday.

Most people in this field open a tab with a job already in their head and twenty minutes before something is due. This page is the map. Each desk lists what to open, what to print, and what this handbook will not do for you. If you would rather answer two questions and get three files, use What do you need?

Hospital coordinator

Your week is a regularly scheduled series: grand rounds, tumor board, M&M. A new session, the same series file, someone who has not sent the form.

Open these

  • The weekly RSS packet for this session's announcement, disclosure reminder, one objective, and eval questions.
  • Disclosure chase when the form is outstanding. Process status only. The form stays out of the tool.
  • Evaluation comments when the open text is due Friday. Names out first.
  • Does this count? when a learner asks about a license or a board. A trail of where you looked. Never a yes.

Print or keep in the series folder

Do not ask us for a credit designation statement, a CloudCME click path, or an objective that makes a stray talk look planned.

Program manager or director

Your week is other people's prompting, a policy you have been meaning to write, and a self-study or PARS close that will want numbers you already have.

Open these

  • Office AI governance. Twenty minutes. Name an owner. Default learner-facing AI to no.
  • Teach-it for the staff meeting you do not have time to design. Use the extra 20 minutes to write the office disclosure sentence in the room.
  • PARS annual close for the five steps and what a model must never fill. Official buttons stay at ACCME.
  • Program-analysis prose from a PARS export you already made. No trend you did not measure.

Hand to a new coordinator

Do not ask us for a commendation strategy, a vendor comparison beyond the dated tools page, or a model that fills PARS.

Consultant

You were hired because a director left, a self-study is due, or the files are thin. You need a method you can leave behind, not a platform the client has to join.

Open these

Put in the client folder

Do not ask us for a place to store their files, a self-study written from nothing, or a determination that their program is in compliance.

Leadership development

Your week is a cohort, a 360 you cannot paste, and a conversation someone is putting off. The CME recipes still help if you sit in an accredited office. These three are the ones built for your Tuesday.

Open these

Do not ask us for a named person as a rehearsal counterpart, a leadership curriculum, or a 360 summary the tool is allowed to see.

Medical education company

Your week is an IME narrative, a supporter who wants Moore level 4, and slides that will be reviewed by an accredited partner who owns the file.

Open these

Give the accredited provider the disclosure log and the checked draft, not the raw thread. Do not ask us for a grant that writes itself from a CGA, or an outcomes number you did not measure.

Society or association

Your week is an annual meeting plus year-round enduring. Faculty volume looks like a conference. Volunteer planners do this two months a year.

Open these

Send volunteer planners the guidebook and the disclosure log.

Do not ask us for a save-the-date that invents a credit statement, or a joint-providership contract.

New to the office

You inherited an inbox, a dashboard, and a shared drive. You may have another job besides this one. Do these four in order. That is enough for the first week.

  1. Guardrails, including can I paste this?
  2. ACCME, in plain words. Use it as a map. Open accme.org for any sentence that will sit in a file.
  3. Start here. Thirty minutes. One real task you already owe.
  4. Ask who owns the approved-tools list. If nobody does, that is the first thing to write down, not the first thing to prompt.

Then pick the desk above that matches the work that landed. Do not let a model invent PARS counts, credit language, or a mitigation step your office does not use.

What every desk shares

The starter pack is the reusable AI kit: voice, house style, identifier screen, number audit, disclosure log, governance. Session-file and activity-file checklists sit next to it, not inside it. The skill modules are the habits underneath the recipes, a little over an hour once. The changelog is how you tell whether a page you bookmarked has moved.

If none of the desks fit, start from What do you need?, the task list on the homepage, or search the way you would say the job out loud.
